Office of Intercollegiate Services

Cambridge Colleges' Administration Software Consortium

The Office of Intercollegiate Services (OIS) is the over-arching body responsible for supporting activities which help the Colleges work together on matters of common interest.   Within OIS, a small team of software developers (CASC) design, implement and support a suite of web-based applications tailored to the collective requirements of the Cambridge Colleges.  Current CASC applications are used for finance, recruitment, reporting and resource management and many are business critical.

OIS wishes to appoint a highly motivated person with the appropriate skill set and experience to contribute to the ongoing development of these applications and the design and implementation of new applications and services for the Colleges.

In addition to inter-personal and problem-solving skills, demonstrable experience of developing web applications using ASP.NET Core in C# and a detailed understanding of SQL are required, and exposure to some of the following would be advantageous:

The MVC framework in ASP.NET Core

  • Database design (in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Scripting (Python, Perl)
  • Web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, Ajax)
  • Web servers (IIS, Apache)

Applicants wishing to work full-time (37.5 hours per week), part-time, or job-share are all welcome. The appointment will be at point 44 of the National Pay Spine (currently £35,845 per annum, pro-rata for part-time).  The position will be based in Pembroke College, Cambridge with the opportunity to work remotely part of the time by mutual agreement.

Further details, including instructions how to apply for the role, are available here:
